An incredible, powerful and grossly under-marketed tool for developing database apps that run in Microsoft Windows only. Its cursor engine is second to none in terms of power, speed and utility. VFP is a fully object-oriented language, with the ability to design classes both in visual tools as well as code-only. Despite neglect from Microsoft, which makes more money selling less capable tools that have higher licensing fees, development continues, with version 9.0 released in late 2004, and work on an update, code-named Sedna, scheduled for a 2007 release.
